A New Found Sanctuary

Dammit. Where was Ryssa when he needed her? Actually, nine times out of ten she had been there when he needed her, so he really shouldn't be cursing her at the moment. Kieran sighed and leaned back, righting himself in his chair. "I know how you feel," Kieran murmured. "Scared. Used. Hurt. Emotionally shattered and worn down. The memory is one that will never leave you. But..." He ended his statement with an old greek saying. "Where you are, I have been, and where I am, you will be." In saying that, he meant that he had been where Kitai was now, and where he was now, she would one day be. Free from her past experience, from the pain, and the hurt. "It may take time, but one day it will happen."

Kitai finally looked up from her arms at Kieran. "If I forget the memory, I forget him," she said painfully. "The only state he'll be able to escape in is dead."

"Maybe it's time you got some sleep," Jetta suggested. She hadn't seen the werewolf sleep once since they had arrived at the Sanctuary. She took Kitai's hand and helped her back up the stairs to her own room, leaving once Kitai was under the blankets. Kitai laid awake in the bed, staring at the cieling and thinking about Yoko. She could never forgive what he had done to her, but part of her just wanted her best friend back.

'Maybe it would be best to forget him,' Kieran thought to himself as Jetta let the werewolf up the stairs. He sighed slightly, and that was when he noticed a couple people from the Rebellion gawking at him. "I think that's the first time I've ever heard you talk," Enthea gasped and Syn started to laugh. Kieran immediately became self-concious, as if he thought he had done something he shouldn't have. He rose from the table and retreated upstairs to a place where no one would bother him.

((Yoko's free to pop in if he wants. And I might be on later))

"Can I go, can I go?" Mshai asked excitedly, reaching out to grab the ball. "If I makes it, we all gotsa do teh hokey pokey."

((I was debating for these reasons: One, everyone's awake, and my guess is that Kitai's gonna make some noise to have Jetta or someone check in on her. Two, I think it'd be funnier if it happened after Kitai found out about Chester. *fuzzles with Chester* I'll probably be on for a bit. I may or may not edit this before you get back, depends on how lazy I feel.))

"Go ahead," Seff said happily, handing Mshai the ball while Dev struggled with Sayne.

"Hooway!" Mshai cried happily as he launched the ball toward the barrel. Unfortunately, the biggest thing in his life that he needed to work on was controlling his strength. The ball hit the wall behind the barrel and rebounded exactly the way it came, hitting the young demigod square in the middle of the forehead.

"So I think we should all still do the hokey pokey!" Seff exclaimed, clapping her hands together. She giggled slightly as the ball came back and hit Mshai on the head. Thankfully it was a softer ball, and wouldn't hurt him much. "Mshai, do you want to lead us?" she asked.

Mshai started singing and was soon joined by Aodan and Runi, who despite his physical age still loved the song. "You put youw wight foot in, you put youw wight foot out, you put youw wight foot in and shake it aww about! Do teh hokey pokey and tuwn youwsewf awoud, dat's what it's aww about!"

Jetta was actually starting to wish that she had kept Kitai down here in case cuteness overload would do her condition any good, but she did need her sleep.

((me neither, it's up to you. Kitai's reaction won't be anywhere near as severe if it happens later, but she would have the opportunity to tell him about Chester))

It had been a few weeks since the Rebellion had arrived at Sanctuary. Most of the bears had welcomed the group with open arms, and Akaelin had yet to hear anything from Lucifer. Kitai was still majorly off, but perhaps she could be considered a bit better than what she had been when she first arrived. She was still far from cured, even though Jetta and Kieran were doing their best with her. Akaelin had learned to avoid her, since he looked so much like his older brother. The last thing he wanted to do was freak the werewolf out. Now as most of the groups major wounds had healed, they could probably start traveling again within the next day or two. Akaelin was curious about this upcoming war, and how fast it was spreading.

Kitai had shaken off her depressive state, but that was the biggest step forward for her condition. She was still cautious around men and tried to avoid Akaelin as much as possible. She had been getting more sleep than she usually would be out for, but just assumed that it was her body's way of trying to help her mind recover. At least she was rational enough now to remember that it was Rabbit that had raped her and not Yoko. Kitai was walking down the stairs to the main floor of the Sanctuary when Jetta pulled her over into an alcove by the window.

"There's been something that I've been curious about for the last couple days," Jetta said, crouching down so her head was level with the werewolf's stomach. "I thought that being cooped up was just making me hear things." Kitai's breath caught in her throat as she guessed what Jetta was getting at. If there was any doubt about her theory when Jetta said that, there was none when she responded. "Kitai...you have two sets of heartbeats. You're...pregnant."

Anyone close enough to hear Jetta fell silent, save for the sound of glass shattering as it hit the floor. Earlier, he had found a glass that had been left on one of the tables from the previous night. He had taken it around behind the bar to clean it, mainly out of boredom. When he had heard Jettas statement, the glass had slipped from his hand unexpectedly in shock. There was no way Kitai could be pregnant. He didn't dare approach her to try and find out himself. He had to trust Jettas opinion. Absentmindedly, he grabbed a broom and started sweeping up the fragments, trying to pretend like he had never even been holding the glass at all.

"I'm...what?!" Kitai asked disbelievingly.

"Pregnant," Jetta tried to reply as calmly as possible. "Either that or you grew another heart in the lower section of your abdomen." Kitai stumbled backwards into the wall and sank onto the floor, the gravity of the news being too much for her to take standing up. She didn't even notice that the glass had been dropped. There were a lot of questions that she wanted to ask, but she already knew the answers to nearly every single one of them.

Jan had been one of the ones to have heard Jetta speak. Unlike most, he bore no facial expression whatsoever. If Kitai always wanted to get rid of the baby, he knew a couple different methods for doing so. He decided to wait, however, before presenting her with the option. He supposed it needed time to sink in a bit. "Chungwadulashions," Geary said between mouthfuls of doughnuts. Her mother had always taught her the custom thing to say in almost any situation. She didn't really notice that Kitai wasn't really as happy as the girl thought she was. "Geary, don't talk with your mouth full," Jan said. She swallowed the last of her breakfast and looked up at her father apologeticly.

Kitai: Are you really that oblivious?

"Thank you," Kitai said reflexively to Geary's comment. It was ironic how she had been wishing for Yoko and now a part of him was literally living inside of her. Part of me, too

"If you don't want it, Kitai, i'm sure that Jan knows some ways to get rid of it." Jetta said reassuringly.

"I-I can't," Kitai finally answered after a long pause. "I need some alone time." She went back up the stairs and sat on her bed, lightly touching her stomach to see if she could feel anything.

((*says in sing songy tone* Pop goes the Yoko!))

"I'm bored. ....I think....I think I want to torment Yoko emotionally instead of physically today."

The blonde haired bitch goddess - as she was affectionately called by Lyre - rose up from her chair, locating Yokos energy in the southern roots of Yggdrasil. Her rider hadn't been very talkative as of late, taking Hels punishment when she felt like delivering it, and then going on his way. No doubt he was still beating himself up for what he had indirectly done to Kitai.

"Oh Yoko! Sweetie pie! Come here please!"

"What," Yoko mumbled under his breath as he met the goddess half way. "Are you going to castrate me like you've been threatening? Cut me in half and hide my legs? Or did you have another crucifixion in mind?"

"Oh so negative all the time," Hel said with a smile, punching Yoko playfully. "No, no honey. I just thought you might want to see your friend. That malfored werewolf. Kaiya?"

"Kitai?" Yoko asked, subconciously correcting Hel. "Ah yes! Kitai, that's her," Hel replied. "I'll also take your response as both a please and thank you." Her nails elongated into bird like talons, and she made a slicing motion through the air, opening what looked like a portal. Part of Yoko wanted to see Kitai, another part figured that she was better off without him. He didn't get to decide, however, as he was shoved roughly through the portal moments before it closed up.

Hels hand returned to normal and she flicked her wrist, an orb appearing seemingly out of thin air. A series of vines twisted themselves downward to form a hammock that Hel laid back in, ready to watch the show.

Hels portal opened up through Kitais ceiling, and Yoko fell to the floor on the other side of her bed with a slight an oomph. He cursed inwardly and scrambled underneath the bed, hoping that Kitai would think that something other than the fox had fallen.

((whoops, I have sleep attacks sometimes XD I was totally awake last night then BAM))

Kitai didn't see clearly what had just fallen from her ceiling because she had been too absorbed in thinking about her latest discovery. When something fell and then crawled under her bed, she assumed that it was the kids playing hide and seek again. Expecting to see either the little wiger or wyena, she got down on her hands and knees and looked under the bed.

'Shit,' Yoko cursed silently as Kitai peeked under the bed. "Umm....I'm not here. You don't see me," he mumbled, hoping that she wouldn't freak out and think that he was Rabbit.

((Ugh. Can't stay on for long. TT^TT))

Unfortunately for Yoko, thinking that he was Rabbit was Kitai's first reaction. She sprung up so fast that she hit her head against the siding of the bed and pressed herself against the wall. It's a hallucination , she tried to convince herself. You're shocked about finding out that he got you pregnant so you're seeing things. Her heart rate slowed down a little bit once the possibility occurred to her that she was just too stressed out, but she still shied away from looking under the bed again.

Yoko almost whimpered when Kitai shied away from him once more. Slowly, making no sudden movements, he poked his head out from underneath the side of the bed. "Kitai? I...I'm not..." he trailed off, unsure of how to word what he wanted to say. "I'm not Rabbit this time," he said quietly.

((gotta go, be back later))

Kitai wanted to believe that it was really Yoko, that there was no possibility that it was actually Rabbit saying it was Yoko, but she was scared of what would happen if she was wrong. Then again, what more could Rabbit do to her, what more could he take from her that he hadn't already? "Yoko?" she asked in a slightly fearful voice. "Yoko, I just found out I-....I'm pregnant."

"Oh," Yoko breathed, blinking a few times in surprise. "That's...that's great!" he said happily, coming out from underneath the bed and standing up. "I'm happy for you. ...Who's the father?" If that didn't tip Kitai off that this was Yoko and not Rabbit, probably nothing would. Rabbit was no where near that oblivious to something so obvious.

Kitai gave a little sigh of relief now that she knew that this definitely wasn't Rabbit. "You're the father, Yoko," she said uneasily, not sure how he would react to this. "You're the only person that's ever......." Her sentence trailed off; she didn't want to say "had sex with me" or "I was a virgin when you raped me."

Various emotions flashed themselves across Yokos face. Confusion being the biggest, and ending in fright. "Oh dear god you're not kidding are you," Yoko breathed, fisting a hand in his hair. He paced back and forth nervously. While he didn't normally swear out loud, now seemed to be a good time. "Shit," he mumbled under his breath, turning to Kitai. "Look, I can understand if you don't want to keep him...or her, depending."
